THE National Farmers Union (NFU) is working in partnership to offer a two-day Junior Tractor Driving Course.
The course is designed to provide advice to the 13 to 16-year-old tractor operator on how to safely operate the modern agricultural tractor and related machinery.
Once the basic safety issues have been covered it is designed to be very practical and hands on, with plenty of opportunity to drive the machines.
All areas of the tractor are covered which include:
· Trailers
· Three-point linkage
· Power Take Off (restricted operation covered due to HSE guidelines).
The training is carried out between the College's Engineering Unit and the purpose-built machine operation area on the campus.
The date of the course is February 14 2022.
Although it is not an assessment-based course a certificate of attendance is given to all trainees upon completion which will satisfy HSE training requirements.
To confirm your NFU discount please email your name, address and membership number to adultskills@myerscough.ac.uk after booking online.
Entry Requirements: This course is aimed at 13-16 year olds. Group Size: 6.
