CLEARED: A66 NOW OPEN following the earlier collision near Center Parcs. Traffic still slow in the area. #CumbriaRoads
P: 13:45 hrs.
Police said earlier that the A66 at Penrith between the Center Parcs turn-off and A686 Carleton Avenue (Kemplay Bank Roundabout) and Kirkby Thore would be closed in both directions for some time due to a road traffic collision.
HGV's had an alternative route via M6 and A69, with smaller vehicles using the C3056. Police and Highways staff attended to relieve standing traffic.
