Teenage Carlisle United midfielder Keelan Leslie has joined Workington Reds on loan.

The first-year Blues pro has linked up with the west Cumbrian club for a month.

United hope Leslie, 18, will gain first-team experience with Chris Willcock's NPL Division One West side Workington FC on a one-month loan deal.

It comes after Leslie recently returned to fitness after a pre-season injury held up his bid to impress in Chris Beech's squad.

The former youth team player was handed a six-month pro deal this summer.

He now links up with a Workington side who are top of their division after winning their first four league games.

Reds are at home to Market Drayton Town this Saturday.

Leslie is the second young Blues player to be sent out on loan early in the campaign, with striker Sam Fishburn currently impressing for Lancaster City.
