THE faces of the six people who murdered Lee McKnight can today be shown for the first time after the judge who sentenced them imposed combined sentences of 119.5 years.

The longest minimum term - set at 30 years - was given to drug dealer Jamie Davison, 26, who masterminded the brutal attack - designed to send out a message to other drugs trade clients that this was what would happen if they failed to pay their debts, said the Honourable Mr Justice Hilliard.

The next longest minimum term - 26 years - went to his sidekick, 26-year-old Arron Graham.

The judge that that both men knew that Lee McKnight was still alive when they threw him - face down - into the River Caldew.

Knowing that Mr McKnight was helpless but still alive when they did this, said they judge, they deliberately drowned him.

They did this partly to send out a warning to other debtors who were part of Davison's £2,000 a week drugs business and partly to cover up their crimes, said the judge.

Fifty-two-year-old Paul Roberts, father of the youngest defendant Jamie Lee Roberts, was jailed for 20.5 years.

His son - 17 at the time he joined the attack on Lee so his £1,200 drugs debt to Davison would be wiped out - must serve at least 16.5 years behind bars before he can apply for release on parole.

Coral Edgar, 26, who the judge said was more concerned about feeding her drugs habit than helping Lee McKnight, was told she must serve a minimum of 13.5 years, while her mother - also hopelessly addicted to drugs - must serve at least 13 years in jail.

Neither Carol nor Coral Edgar showed any emotion as the sentences were announced. Earlier in the hearing, the mother and daughter - sitting in the same dock beside each other - were seen laughing and joking as they chatted before the hearing got underway.
