Farmer help fire fighters extinguish blaze
There was a fire in Wigton during the afternoon of Wednsday, July 21.
A Wigton Fire Station spokesperson said: "Around 13:30 Wigton crew was called to a fire in a straw field in Aikton.
"The crew found an area of approximately 20m X 40m on fire which is thought to have started due to a piece of farm equipment.
"2 hose reel jets, and also help from farmers with a water tanker, where used to stop the fire spreading to the rest of the field and extinguish the fire."
