People are once again being asked to think of safety first when being products for their summer holidays online.

The Office of Product Safety and Standards (OPSSS) is providing guidance for consumers on how to stay safe when buying summer products, like sunglasses, chargers, and immersion heaters for paddling pools.

The OPSS has warned that some “so-called bargains are harmful and could cause injuries that can be severe”.

People are being warned that some bargain electrical goods like immersion heaters and chargers can be at risk of overheating, catching fire, or causing electrocution.

The OPSS has produced top tips for consumers.

These include comparing product prices and checking the address on products.
