WEDDINGS are being welcomed back at Derwentwater Hotel in Keswick, which reopened last month.

With the latest Government guidance allowing for weddings to go ahead with no limit on numbers other than social distancing requirements, staff at the Derwentwater hotel have expressed delight they can progress with offering weddings, as they continue to rebuild and re-establish their reputation as one of the Lake District’s foremost wedding venues.

Since reopening last month, the hotel, which is part of the newly formed Coast & Country Hotel Collection, have enjoyed a period of busy trade, as locals, regulars and new guests embrace the venue, with many expressing their genuine pleasure at being able to enjoy their hospitality once more.

Miguel Sanchez Bernalte, the general manager of the Windermere Hotel, said: “While the extension of social distancing measures does continue to restrict part of our business, we’re very much focusing on the positives and we’re delighted to be able to bring weddings back to our wonderful venue — albeit with some necessary social-distancing restrictions in place.”

Both hotels in Keswick and Windermere are offering a 2021 weddings package allowing a 30-guest venue for £2,000.

Mr Sanchez Bernalte added: “One of the benefits of the hotels, having only recently reopened, is that despite recent inquiries, our calendar for weddings still has some availability, which means couples who are quick to get in touch will almost have a choice of dates, which run up until the end of the year as part of the offer.”
