Firefighters were called out to tackle a blaze after a number of hay bails caught fire in an field.
Appliances from Carlisle East and West fire stations were called out at approximately 6.45pm to reports of hay bails that had caught fire in a field off Orton Road in Carlisle.
The crew used two hose reel jets to tackle the 20 hay bails that had caught fire.
Firfighters had to move the hay bails apart and away from the hedge row so that the fire would not spread.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
