A man was taken to hospital after a road traffic collision involving a car that had flipped on to its roof.
Police were contacted at around 7am today to a report of a collision on the M6 Northbound, between Junction 44 and Todhills.
Firefighters from Carlisle West Fire Station were also mobilised at approximately 7.15am to attend the incident.
A crew from Carlisle East Fire Station were also in attendance.
Involved in the collision was a Mazda and a Mercedes A200.
Crews found a vehicle had left the carriageway and hit the acoustic safety fence, flipping the vehicle onto its roof.
The driver of the Mazda, a man in his 40s, was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle with minor injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes was uninjured.
Part of the carriageway was blocked while emergency services and recovery were on the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
A spokesperson for Carlisle West Fire Station said: "We would like to take the opportunity to remind people to drive to the conditions and adhere to the legal obligations of driving at all times."
