Chris Beech says he is still seeking "one or two more" signings at Carlisle United.

Ahead of the players' return for pre-season training tomorrow, the head coach admitted the Blues' recruitment was not yet over.

Carlisle have brought in three players so far this summer - Tristan Abrahams, Zach Clough and Corey Whelan.

Among their remaining targets, United are seeking a new goalkeeper to compete with Magnus Norman.

Beech, speaking at a 'fixtures breakfast' event for businesses and sponsors at Brunton Park today as Carlisle's 2021/22 schedule was revealed, said: "I’m pleased because there’s a bit of stability in the squad, a lot of the lads are still here, and we’re looking to add one or two more.

“We need a keeper, and we actually spoke to two recently.

"I met one last week, that looked promising, but it’s difficult when it then goes away.

“I had somebody phone me every week for three weeks but they then disappeared.

"For me it’s about sticking to your principles and staying patient so that you get what you feel will be the right person.”

Beech confirmed players will be at the club on Friday for fitness testing before trainig starts in earnest on Saturday.

He added: "I know from the contact I’ve had with them that they’re in physically good states.

"Hopefully they’ll represent us all well with everything they do going on from here.

“We have some new faces to add to the group and every team takes time to come together."
