Mountain rescue have been called to deal with a number of incidents over the past couple of weeks.

One of the rescues saw a team called out to assist a man living with Parkinson’s disease who was struggling to descend a hill.

Here is a round up of some of the incidents teams were called out to.

Injured walker

Wasdale Mountain Rescue team were called out to help a woman who injured her ankle while descending Great Gable on Sunday June 6.

Wasdale Mountain Rescue and Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue teams were called out at 2.30pm and the casualty was treated and stretchered off the hill.

The crews and woman were met by a land ambulance in the valley at the bottom.

Head injury

Keswick Mountain Rescue were mobilised to help a walker who had fallen and cut his head whilst on Catbells.

The team were alerted at approximately 14.44pm after the man fell on a rocky section of ground near the fell's Skelgill Bank summit on June 11.

Back-to-back call outs

Keswick Mountain Rescue were called out to back-to-back incidents last weekend.

First of all, the team was called to help a man who was suffering from Parkinson's and struggling to descend Wren Crag.

Shortly after, the team was called to help a woman who had fallen over a rock and damaged her ankle while descending Ashness Fell.

Fall on Catbells

Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called out again after their busy weekend to assist a 64-year-old man who had collapsed on Catbells.

man collapsed when he tried to stand up after a rest at the top of the climb up Skelgill Bank on the well-trod fell.

The man’s wife called 999 and asked for Mountain Rescue assistance.

One Landrover with 5 team members left base with other team members going direct.

The casualty was assessed by team medics before being walked down to an awaiting ambulance for further assessment.

In all, the rescue involved 16 team members and took two hours.
