Egremont Town Council will rename their Good Citizen Award, the Margaret Woodburn Good Citizen Award.
Margaret was a Copeland Borough Councillor for 30 years and spent almost 40 years serving Egremont Town Council both as a councillor and as Clerk.
She died early last month at the age of 86.
The council will name the award after the much respected former Mayor of Copeland,in recognition of the nearly 40 years of service Margaret gave as Town Clerk. 
Egremont Town Council announced the move on social media yesterday, they said: "The Council believe this is a fitting tribute to Margaret, who done so much for the community and town she lived in, and this Annual Award will ensure her contribution is remembered now and for many years to come."
