A COMMUNITY art trail is returning to Cockermouth and will be brightening up lots of shop windows.
Meanders was first launched in 2018 and proved a big hit.
It involves an eclectic mix of people from the West Cumbria Artistic Network exhibiting their work throughout the town, bringing lots of art and colour to the high street.
West Cumbria Artistic Network is a branch of EVAN (Eden Valley Artistic Network) which was founded four years ago and aims to inspire artistic people to get creative and provides the opportunities to showcase their work.
Artists meet regularly, take part in events, and gain priority access to art opportunities.
Maggi Toner-Edgar, one of the EVAN directors and founder of the West Cumbria Artistic Network, said: "West Cumbria artists work mainly in rural and remote locations, and this is a great opportunity to showcase their talent.
"We want to celebrate the west, allowing talent to bring us back together, since we have all been living ‘on the edge' for a while now, this was our collective concept during lockdown.
"The intention is to include retailers and townspeople as much as possible."
Meanders will run from today until July 4, coinciding with Cockermouth Live!
The organisers are thankful to Allerdale Council for all their support.
