Strikes action at the DVLA is set to continue this week.

Industrial action is scheduled to continue between Monday June 14 and Friday June 18, and will directly affect DVLA’s service.

There will be delays in processing paper applications.

There is no need to phone to chase up your application during this time as we are dealing with all paper applications as quickly as possible and in the order in which they are received.

Industrial action began earlier in the month on June 7.

In March 2020, the DVLA were issuing around 12 million driving licences and 18 million vehicle log books annually and answer around 1 million phone calls each month.

There are around 49 million drivers and 40 million vehicles on the road in the UK.

Online services are still available.

The DVLA is an executive agency of the Department for Transport (DfT).

They collect around £7 billion a year in vehicle excise duty on behalf of HM Treasury.
