A WOMAN has been handed a driving ban after she was stopped by police over the legal limit.

Lucy Michelle Todd, 41, of Solway Road, Whitehaven, appeared at Workington Magistrates Court on Friday.

She faced one charge of drink driving relating to an incident on May 8 in Cleator Moor. The court heard she drove her Citreon C3 on the Whitehaven Road, and had 47 mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath when stopped by police. The legal limit is 35mg.

Todd admitted the charge, and was fined £160, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85.

She was also disqualified from driving for 16 months.
