A man was arrested by Cumbria police after driving in a dangerous manner near Whitehaven last week.
A spokesman for Cumbria police said; “Officers stopped a vehicle that was driving in a dangerous manner at 1:22pm on the 10th of June on the B5295, between Hensingham and Keekle.
"Dale Smart, 25, of Crammond Place, Perth, was charged with driving whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol.
"He will appear at North and West Cumbria Magistrates' Court at 9:30am on the 23rd of July.”
Police have confirmed that no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The arrest comes as part of a wider initiative by Copeland police to protect the borough’s streets and roads by the Copeland Proactive team.
They have in the past week also arrested two men in Whitehaven town centre on public order offences to do with knives.
