A WOMAN has been handed a restraining order after admitting harassment.
Hannah Hardy, 30, of Poole Road in Salterbeck, Workington, appeared for sentencing at Workington Magistrates Court on Friday.
She had previously pleaded guilty to one charge of harassment relating to an incident on or before April 26 at Distington.
The court heard that Hardy had attended the victim's home address and banged on the door asking to be let in, as well as ringing them using a withheld number and sending multiple unwanted text messages.
She was handed a community order with a rehabilitation activity requirement, and a restraining order preventing her from contacting the victim or entering a street in Workington. The order is in place until June 10 2023.
Hardy was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and costs of £85. A custodial sentence was considered due to Hardy's previous record, but the Magistrate felt there was a chance of rehabilitation and stepped back from custody.
