Two motorcyclists have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a five-vehicle crash near Cockermouth.
Police were called out at 8.50 pm yesterday, June 9 to the A5086, near to the Paddle School junction.
A police spokesman, said: "A motorcyclist aged 53 from Norwich was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Victoria Infirmary with life-threatening injuries.
"Another motorcyclist aged 56 from Norwich was taken to Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the Ford a man in his twenties from Maryport, the driver of the Volkswagen a woman in her forties from Cockermouth and the driver of the Mercedes a woman in her twenties from Workington were uninjured.
"Officers investigating the collision are appealing for witnesses to contact them with any information they may have in relation to the collision."
