A MAN will face trial at crown court facing charges of assault and intimidating a witness.
Caris Leon MacKay, 26, of no fixed abode, appeared at Workington Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He faced two charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm relating to an incident on April 16 in Maryport.
Mackay also faced A third charge of intimidating a witness thereby perverting the course of justice. The court heard MacKay allegedly shouted at the witness, and is accused of telling him three times to make sure nobody turned up at the trial.
The accused was remanded in custody until a trial at Carlisle Crown Court on July 7.
