Since launching in 1961, the BHF has funded ground-breaking discoveries to save and improve lives.

However, the last year has been one of the toughest in our history. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic meant that our investment for new research into conditions such as heart attack, stroke and vascular dementia was cut in half last year, which will ultimately delay important scientific breakthroughs.

But we’re not ready to stop yet – and that’s why we are urging everyone, of all ages and abilities, to join the BHF’s Team 60 in July to celebrate 60 years of pioneering research.

All you need to do is choose your challenge around the number 60; from hosting a 60s themed party, running 60 miles over a month, or taking on a 60-hour challenge - the fundraising possibilities are endless.

The pandemic may have dealt a brutal blow to our work, but together we are going to make this year one to remember. Your support will help the BHF continue to fund its vital research to find cures and treatments for the 7.6 million people living with heart and circulatory diseases in the UK.
