Police in the area
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of several offences including rape and kidnap.
Officers are currently on scene in Carlisle's Hartington Place, while they carry out investigations.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: "We were contacted at 10.46am on May 13 to a report of an assault at an address on Hartington Place, Carlisle.
"A 31-year-old man from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of rape, kidnap, false imprisonment and wounding with intent.
"He currently remains in police custody.
"There is currently a police presence in the area while detectives conduct their investigations."
