Geese have been ‘ploughed’ into on a street in Barrow leaving a number of adults and chicks dead, according to reports.
Bardsea Bird Sanctuary reported that the animals had been driven into while crossing Wilkie Road last night, next to Barrow AFC football pitch.
According to the sanctuary police attended the scene.
In a social media post Bardsea Bird Sanctuary said: “Very sad news I'm afraid.
“A driver has ploughed through geese crossing on Wilkie Road next to the football pitch in Barrow leaving a number of adults and chicks dead, and police have attended the scene.
“If you have any information contact Cumbria Police and private message us.”
