Cumbrians who are eligible to receive their Covid vaccine are being urged to take their health service up on the offer.

Residents aged 40-and-up are now eligible to receive the jab, and while many people are waiting to be called by their local GP, the national booking service can also be used to access four vaccination community pharmacies and a vaccination centre, run by the Newcastle Hospitals Trust, as the lead provider for the vaccine programme.

These are based at Boots, Carlisle City Centre; Allison's Pharmacy at the Globe Hotel, Cockermouth; Seacliffe Pharmacy, Whitehaven; Pharmacy2u at Dunmail Park, Workington; and Auction Mart Vaccination Centre, Penrith.

North Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group urges anyone who is contacted by their GP to accept the vaccine.

Alternatively, bookings via the National Booking System should be made as soon as possible, to ensure those who wish to receive the vaccine can do so soon.
