The challenge ahead of Whitehaven Rugby League Club on Sunday is welcome as head coach Gary Charlton says Toulouse "have everything to lose."

Whitehaven RL will welcome Toulouse Olympique to the LEL Arena on Sunday in Round 6 of the Betfred Championship.

The side are aware of the test that lies in front of them, the always formidable Toulouse shut out Widnes Vikings 70-0 in the previous round.

Nevertheless, Charlton said that Haven were always game for a challenge.

“We’ve got to be realistic but we’ll go out there and we’ll try our best.

“Toulouse are a very good side, they’ve got a lot of Super League and NRL players.

But Charlton said: “We have nothing to lose.

“They have everything to lose but we’ve got everything to gain.”

Haven will face the French side off the back of an impressive win against Oldham last weekend. Charlton said: “I thought considering the conditions, we were excellent in the second half.

“I thought we defended manfully, we defended the line really well.”

Haven will look to keep up that momentum in their next Championship game.

“We can’t underestimate the challenge, the challenge is enormous this weekend. If we don’t do all those little things right we’re going to get hurt but that’s the challenge.”

Whitehaven will carry the same attitude into the game as any other.

“None of use go out there just to make numbers up in a game.

“I expect us to be fully committed, have a good dig at Toulouse, ask them a few questions when we’ve got the ball in hand. Results do sometimes happen but we’ve got to put the effort in.”

The clash will be live streamed on Sunday via the OuRLeague app. Kick-off is set for 3pm.
