RESIDENTS of Copeland can now register their interest in purchasing a discounted home in the borough.
Under its Discounted Sale Scheme, Copeland Borough Council holds details of any residents interested in purchasing 'discounted properties' which are sold at up to 8- per cent of their market value.
Residents who cannot afford to buy on the open market and who have a local connection to the parish or town, as well as meeting other qualifying criteria, will be prioritised initially for discounted housing.
Mike Starkie, the Mayor of Copeland, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for people to get their foot on the property ladder.
“It allows Copeland residents to access high quality housing in an area they have links to, that would ordinarily be out of their price range."
