A MAN has been handed a suspended sentence for assault.
Jonathon Joseph Whitehead, 43, of Cotegill Farm in Gaisgill, denied a charge of assault by beating, but was found guilty.
He was handed a 12 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to take part in a 30-day rehabilitation programme. He was also ordered to pay costs of £620.
