CUMBRIA Etsy crafters are holding a virtual event this Saturday.

The Etsy Made in Cumbria Spring Virtual Fair is a free event which will be hosted on Instagram on Saturday May 8 from 9.30am.

Etsy Made in Cumbria is a group of artisans, artists, makers and vintage sellers based in the Lake District which was created 2 and a half years ago by candle maker Kate Antrobous.

Kate said: “I’m so excited to be hosting this virtual event to showcase the wonderful sellers we have in our Etsy Made in Cumbria group.

“Since the pandemic, we have seen a massive increase in the demand for people wanting to shop local and shop small, and we know that both the sellers and their customers really benefit from these virtual events.

“During the event, I will be interviewing the crafters about their goods and we know that people really love finding out the stories behind the sellers.

This Saturday’s event will feature 23 artisan crafters from the 346 who make up the Etsy Made in Cumbria group.

Kate said: “Our group includes members from all four corners of Cumbria who create everything from jewellery, ceramics, textiles, art and much more. It’s fantastic that we can showcase their talents to a wide audience with this virtual market.”

The event will take place live on Saturday May 8 from 9.30am – 6pm and on Sunday May 9 from 10am – 6pm at https://www.instagram.com/etsymadeincumbria.
