FIREFIGHTERS from Carlisle East Fire Station were called out to a pick-up truck fire.
The incident took place today on the road between Wreay and High Wreay.
The crew were given the call out at about 8am.
A spokesman for the station said: "The man was driving along when a lot of smoke started to come out the dashboard so he pulled over and called the fire service."
Crews were on the scene for about 30 minutes and the blaze was put out using a hosereel and breathing apparatus.
It is understood that the fire was caused by a fault in the engine."
On April 25 crews from Carlisle East, and West, Fire Stations had also been called out at about 2am, to a three car fire on Chersey Grove, Just off London Road, Carlisle.
