THE Co-op has given a cash boost to a vital mountain rescue team
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team secured the funding after being shortlisted by the convenience retailer as one of three good causes across the North of England to receive financial support from a total pot of £9,000.
The funding will go towards enabling the organisation to purchase more stretchers to use during often challenging rescues.
John Hunston, treasurer and team member at Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, said: “Many thanks to everyone at the Lakes and Dales Co-op for your funding towards our stretchers.
“It’s great to have the support of our local community, especially as our usual funding from collection boxes in guest houses, pubs and cafes has been badly affected by Covid-19.”
