AN APPLICATION to fell two Sycamore's and a Holly Tree in Carlisle has been approved.
Carlisle City Council has given the go-ahead on Thursday for plans at Stanwix Bowling Club, Stanwix Bank.
According to the application form: "The trees are growing very close to the walls of the club, 20cm to 1.5m, they would be cut to ground level."
The council's reason and recommendations report states: "In terms of amenity value, the trees have limited value to the public realm.
"In terms of public safety, they are self seeded and have grown within the boundary to the neighbouring house and against the club house.
