A CARLISLE school teamed up with two famous football clubs to keep pupils entertained during half-term this week.

Richard Rose Central Academy pupils were lucky enough to take part in a fun-filled week of activities as part of a holiday camp put on in collaboration with Carlisle United Community Sports Trust and the Manchester United Foundation.

Over the three days, students were involved in various sports sessions, team building activities and arts and crafts.

The students also contributed towards painting a mural to express how they have felt about the last year and what they’re looking forward to in 2021.

Staff at Central Academy took to Facebook to hail the efforts of the youngsters who were involved as well as the staff and community groups who contributed to making the initiative a success.

They said: “A big well done to everyone who attended our first holiday camp over the last couple of days. We’ve had a cracking time!

“Keep you’re eyes peeled with our plans for the summer holidays and future camps with the Manchester United Foundation and Carlisle United Community Sports Trust!

“Big thanks to all the staff who supported, Carlisle Food Hub for the lunches and of course our two partner clubs for the sport and activities.

“We would like to thank Carlisle Community Help Affordable Food Hub and The Youth Zone who provided lunch for the kids. The packed lunches made by our community staff members Anne & Teresa.

“And a big thank you to Will McGillivray at Image Signs who provided signage boards for painting.”
