Mountain rescue volunteers are presented with a cheque from Egremont Co-op staff
A LAKE District mountain rescue team has been handed a significant funding boost.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team members were presented with a cheque for £2,433.15 this week.
The money was raised over the past six months through the Co-op community fund.
It was presented by staff members from the chain's Egremont store.
A spokesman for the MRT said: "We would like to thank all the customers of the co-op who have nominated our team as their good cause this year.
"With all of our regular fundraising events cancelled over the 12 months this amazing donation is very gratefully received and will be used to provide essential equipment and training to our new probationers who join the team next week."
