Cumbria Police are working in partnership with Inspira to showcase the range of career options available to jobseekers within the police force.

Recruitment is open for police officers and non-policing roles such as in the criminal justice team, procurement and administration.

The jobs are available countywide with opportunities for flexible working in many of the non-policing roles.

Starting on April 19, the week-long, county-wide programme will feature online talks from officers and staff about their roles, enabling participants to ask questions about what working for the police is really like.

Emma Owens from Cumbria Police said: “Policing is an exciting and rewarding career and by becoming an officer or staff member you can make a real difference in the communities you serve; reducing crime and making people feel safe.”

The online sessions will also enable participants to understand their skills and to receive support to understand all parts of the recruitment process from Inspira advisers and one of the force’s recruitment specialists.

Lisa Thomason, from Inspira said: “This is a really exciting project. I’m thrilled that we can help jobseekers in Cumbria to learn more about careers in the police. Everyone thinks of police officers, but there are so many diverse roles available throughout the organisation. It’s great to be able to help unemployed people to find out that there are roles to match their skills and talents.”

The programme runs from April 19 to 23. For more information, call Inspira on 0345 658 8647.
