FIRE fighters were called to two deliberate fires on Wednesday afternoon.
Crews from Carlisle dealt with rubbish and grass fires on the Raffles Estate and at Ridgemount Green.
The fire and rescue service confirmed the fires were started deliberately, and that they were extinguished using a hose reel.
Crews have been carrying out public engagement and education work in the area to explain the dangers of calling fire crews out to non-emergencies.
A spokesman for the service said he hoped it would get the message across.
