Officers are carrying out an investigation after a girl in her early teens was assaulted by a group of males.
The assault happened on the footpath between the Sheepmount and Engine Lonning, Carlisle, at around 2pm on April 3.
Police said the girl was not seriously injured but was left shaken and distressed by the incident.
She sustained injuries including bruising.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact DC 2328 or DC 2476 on 101, quoting incident number 119. Alternatively, calls can be made to the independent charity Crimestoppers, completely anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
