Fly-tippers are being warned after a fixed penalty notice was issued to resident in Workington.

Allerdale borough council's enforcement team this week issued a fixed penalty notice to a resident in Workington after they left this rubbish out in the street.

A spokesman for the council said: "We're unable to collect any excess waste and bags left out are classed as fly-tipping.

"If you do have excess waste please do not leave it out in the street, store it until your next collection

"If it is recycling such as plastic bottles or glass, take it to our bring sites or the household waste recycling centres run by Cumbria County Council, which can also take larger items and garden waste.

"The council also operates a bulky item collection service for a small fee."
