Did you watch the explosive Harry and Meghan interview last night (March 8)?

In the interview, Meghan and Harry laid bare their brief lives as a working royal couple, and even alleged that a member of the family – not the Queen or Duke of Edinburgh – made a racist comment about their unborn son.

We asked our readers: ‘What are your thoughts on Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah?’

You had some very strong opinions, some supporting the former royals for speaking out while others weren’t quite as approving.

This is what you had to say:

Marian Macklin said: "Sadly both Diana and Meghan went into the Royal Family with a totally unrealistic dream idea of life within the aristocracy and the responsibilities, activities and restrictions that it involves. Consequently both have suffered deep distress."

Bryan Mitchinson explained: "Oprah forgot to ask Mehgan about her side of the family, why only her mother could go to the wedding when she asked so many strangers, including Oprah who she had met only once before the big day.

"I have reservations about some of the things I have heard, only in the news, and if true the context in which they were allegedly being said."

Claire Blakey commented: "I actually feel sorry for them. People are already here judging them and they haven't even watched the interview-which is only part way through. How can you form an opinion when you're influenced by the media? Let's be realistic, before Meghan married Prince Harry she was constantly slated by the press. If you compare the press she received to the press Kate received they are the complete opposite."

Val Llewellyn added: "I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt but , that remark we got married three days before the wedding? If that's what they wanted they should of stood by that instead of being sneaky and clever and wasting the money that was spent. Sorry not interested any more if it's right or wrong. Get on with your lives if that's what you want, in silence. Can't wait for the other side."

Teresa Sayers said: "Very interesting. Glad I watched it. Thought it was a time to be kind to each other but apparently there are exceptions."

Hilary Bolson commented: "People are so quick to judge.

"Meghan was being judged before she even got with Harry and I think its very sad.

"Unless you are perfect yourself you shouldn't be judging anyone. There are always two sides to every story."

Eleanor Jean Tyler explained: "Watched the interview expecting to be outraged, instead I felt real empathy for them. Harry has always bucked the trend as to being born a royal and losing his mother in the way he did has never left him. As for Meghan, she was totally unprepared for how life within the family would be. At the end of the day it is incredibly sad for all concerned and I hope in time it can be resolved."

Sharon Stamper added: "I feel for Meghan, Harry has said he could see things happening to Meghan that happened to his mum. He stood by her unlike Charlie's did with Diana."

Andrew Smith said: "Shame it’s got to this really.

2But to be honest I really hope the Royal family come out fighting and throw him under the bus, just like he has tried to do with them."
