Hundreds of Carlisle residents turned out to pay tribute to a little boy who sadly after battling a rare form of cancer.

Stanley Dalton's funeral took place on Thursday and friends, family and supporters lined the streets of the city for him as he took his final journey.

Since then, tributes have come flooding in to the three-year-old who fought like a warrior to beat cancer.

Bethany Michelle Ronson said: "Rest in peace little man, was so lovely to see the blue ribbons everywhere today, thoughts and with Stan’s family."

Stef CM explained: "I went for a walk in my lunch break today. I went to walk through the cemetery which is my usual route but noticed everyone waiting so decided against the walk and stood at the side of the road to pay my respects. What a wonderful send off for such a happy little boy. I was so happy to see the fire service had came and had their blue lights flashing as Stan passed. Such a tear jerking moment but everyone involved did him proud."

Lina Pinto commented: "My thoughts and prayers are with Stanley's family and friends. God has gained another angel. Rest in peace now little man, no more pain, now you are well. My heart breaks for his family. You will never be forgotten sweet boy. "

Emily Potts added: "RIP little man. Thinking of you and your family. Fly high beautiful boy."

Sue Hannen said: "So very sad in the arms of the angels now sleep tight gorgeous boy."

Julie Cork added: "That smile has stole the heart of millions.

"Fly high Carlisle's brave warrior."

Ellen Musgrave said: "So so sad sleep tight little man the angels will look after you."

Karen Nana Read continued: "Sleep tight little man, RIP beautiful little man."

Susan Wright said: "Sleep in peace beautiful boy , now with the angels."
