The Horrible Histories Barmy Britain tour, due to visit Carlisle, has been rescheduled following the Government's announcement on Monday.

The drive-in theatre production will now take place at Carlisle Racecourse on Sunday 2 May.

The Birmingham Stage Company (BSC) decided to bring back their drive-in theatre tour due to popular demand after successful productions last summer and over Christmas.

Addressing fans in an update video on Twitter, BSC Director and Actor, Neal Foster, said: "We are so thankful for all your support for our drive-in tour that we've arranged. It's your passion and joy for the productions we did last year of Horrible Christmas and Barmy Britain that has made us want to bring more shows out to you this Easter."

According to the Government's roadmap for easing Covid restrictions in England, drive-in cinemas and theatres could be allowed to open, depending on the rate of infection at the time.

On having to change the dates, Mr Foster said: "We're doing that right now to reduce the inconvenience to you as much as possible, so the same venues get kept but it'll just be slightly later.

"We're going to be posting and getting back to you directly with all the details you need for where the shows are going to be happening and we're really looking forward to seeing you when we are performing again very soon."

Horrible Histories Live on Stage is based on the bestselling books written by Terry Deary.

The BSC has produced eighteen different Horrible shows, performing to over three million people in the UK.
