THE rate of coronavirus infections in Allerdale has risen slightly, according to the latest figures.
Data from Public Health England showed that the infection rate in the borough currently stands at 153.4 cases per 100,000 residents - up from 146.3 yesterday.
However, the infection rate across the rest of Cumbria has continued to fall.
The infection rates per 100,000 people for the past seven-day period in each area is:
- Allerdale - 153.4
- Barrow - 171.5
- Carlisle - 103.1
- Copeland - 124.7
- Eden - 60.1
- South Lakes - 58
- Cumbria - 111
The total number of people with at least one positive Covid-19 test result since the start of the pandemic in each area is:
- Allerdale - 4,781
- Barrow - 4,085
- Carlisle - 8,048
- Copeland - 2,974
- Eden - 2,924
- South Lakes - 4,344
- Cumbria - 27,156
Figures from NHS England showed the death toll at North Cumbria NHS trust hospitals now stands at 501, with seven deaths recorded in the last week.
Nationally, a further 9,938 people tested positive for COVID-19 across the UK yesterday, bringing the total number of cases to 4,144,577.
A further 442 deaths of people who died within 28 days of a positive test were confirmed yesterday, bringing the total death toll to 121,747.
