The Red Admiral in Gosforth was busy serving up a variety of tasty pancakes as takeout options last week. Treats included a host of savoury and sweet options, including banoffee pancakes, cajun chicken and BBQ.

With current Cornavirus restrictions the restaurant can't be open as usual to the public, but this certainly didn't put a stop to Chef Lorne’s creativity, sprucing up a menu which was available for takeout alongside their usual takeaway menu.

Lorne Jeffrey said: “It’s great to be able to serve up such a vast range of exciting dishes. Pancake day is always a fun day, some savoury, some sweet! Although we can't host guests in the restaurant, they can still taste our pancakes at home via our takeout service.”

The selection of scrumptious pancakes included: Banoffee pancakes served with banana, toffee sauce, grated Belgian chocolate and whipped cream. Savoury pancakes served with melted cheddar cheese, Cajun chicken and BBQ sauce. Fruit pancakes served with mixed fruits, whipped cream and raspberry compote and chocolate pancakes served with Belgian chocolate sauce, honeycomb, white chocolate chips.

The team at the Red Admiral hope that next year people can enjoy the pancakes in the restaurant.
