COMMUNITIES across the Eden district are being invited to engage in Covid-secure arts activities and events, both on and offline.

Eden District Council has teamed up with Highlights Eden to to launch a range of activities which will be centred around the themes of light, rebirth and growth to fit in with the coming of Spring.

The programme, which involves a number of regional artists and creators, will lead to a Light Up festival close to the Spring Equinox on March 20. It is hoped that individuals, businesses, and schools will light up 1,000 windows, doorsteps, or gardens with homemade lanterns.

Children’s workshops include Making a puppet from Recycled Materials with Upfront Puppet Theatre and Create a Spring Comic Character with Sula Hancock.

There is also the opportunity to join Peter Macqueen in Writing and performing a Character Monologue and for singers, Jilly Jarman of BlueJam Arts is running the Highlighting Eden virtual choir with an Anthem for Spring.

Karen Babayan will demonstrate how to make your own Art Window for Eden’s Window Wanderland.
