Emergency services were called to an address near Carlisle city centre following concerns for the welfare of a man.
Police were called at 1.30pm today (Thursday, February 18) to an address on Warwick Road.
A number of roads in the area of Carlisle were temporarily blocked and a cordon was put in place while police were at the scene.
According to reports, armed police entered a property on Warwick Road after concerns were raised about a man's welfare.
Several police vehicles were called to the area, as well as an ambulance.
An eye witness in Warwick Square, who did not want to be named, said: "I came out of my house just for a walk and now I can't get back in because the road is blocked off."
The road re-opened some time later.
