Initial proposals for three homes in a small Eden village are to be decided on this week.

Eden District Council’s planning panel will decide tomorrow whether to approve outline plans for three homes in the centre of Ousby, east of Langwathby.

Council planning officers have recommended that the outline plans be approved, though Ousby Parish Council and nine households have raised objections to the plans.

The parish council has stated its concern that a “further three dwellings will exacerbate the relatively recent surface water flooding issues on Ousby village green”.

Eden planning officers stated in documents prepared for Thursday’s meeting that Cumbria County Council, as the Lead Local Flood Authority, had raised “no objection to the application and notes that there are no records of minor surface water flooding to the site
