Police stopped a large goods vehicle on the A66 after the driver was talking on his mobile phone.
Eden Police stopped the driver on the A66 Eastbound at Whinfell after the driver passed the team while on his mobile phone.
A spokesman said: "He was so engrossed in his conversation on his mobile phone that he fails to see us." He was reported for traffic offences.
