OUR READERS reacted to the national applause for hero fundraiser Captain Tom, paying their respects one last time.
Captain Sir Tom Moore, who raised almost £33 million for the NHS, tragically died after a short battle with Covid-19 on Tuesday.
The public were asked to clap for the inspirational fundraiser at 6pm on Wednesday, we asked readers if you turned out for Sir Tom and you answered in your hundreds.
Sandra Parker said: “I was and a couple of neighbours.”
Sue Clifford said: “I clapped from my bedroom window due to currently being flawed by Covid myself at the minute.
She said: “R.I.P Sir Tom, a true inspiration and thank you from all of us that work for the NHS.”
Gemma Grey said: “We were at the window.”
Julie Smith said: “I clapped for each and every one of the victims of this awful virus. Including the ones fighting for their lives or recovering, and their families.”
John Nichol said: “Yes along with other neighbours from High Road, Kells. Sleep tight and god bless you, Captain Tom.”
