THE GOVERNMENT is looking to boost the number of electric charging points with a £20m enticement for councils.
Transport secretary Grant Shapps yesterday announced more funding for the On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme - allowing residents without private parking to charge their vehicles.
Mr Shapps said: Drivers across the country should benefit from the electric vehicle revolution we’re seeing right now.
"With a world-leading charging network, we’re making it easier to switch to electric vehicles."
