Snow wasn’t the only thing in the air on Saturday, with one loved-up couple making an extra special memory in the Cumbrian snowfall.

Jenna Hilton, 28, from Langdale, and Dale Hargan, 26, from Flookburgh, who now reside in Coniston, took a stroll to Little Langdale on what would be a very memorable day in the snow.

Miss Hilton asked her boyfriend to take a picture in the snow, but was shocked when he dropped to one knee.

Miss Hilton said: “I have always been obsessed with the snow so this was just the perfect moment.”

Elsewhere in the county, children rejoiced as the snow fell, creating lots of snowmen and snow angels.

Brother and sister Maryellen and Oliver visited Barrow Park, while Matilda Kendall had fun at Birkrigg Common.

But the children weren’t the only ones letting their creative side flow, with Hannah Louise, 27, and her partner building an impressive snowman of their own. Hannah said: “We don’t care that we are 27 and 29, we had such fun!”
