A FIFTY-four-year-old Carlisle man has been jailed for 26 weeks after he admitted a raft of offences - including two assaults during which he spat at shop security staff.
Stephen Graham Moore, of Hillary Grove, Carlisle, admitted common assaults on two men on October 10. At the city's Rickergate court, he also admitted three thefts: stealing aftershave worth £40 from Body Shop; trainers worth £85 from Sports Direct in the city centre; and rugs worth £79 belonging to B&M.
He also admitted damaging a police cell safety suit and blanket, necessitating a £345 deep clean. The fact of the pandemic made the spitting more serious, said magistrates.
