TWO vehicles were trapped by flood waters on a major road in rural Northumberland.
The A68 remains closed due to flooding in Redesdale, but emergency services have managed to recover the vehicles that became trapped near West Woodburn.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: "Shortly after 7.35am on Wednesday we received a report two vehicles had become stuck on the A68 near West Woodburn due to flooding.
“Officers and other emergency services attended to assist with the recovery of the vehicles.
“The road remains closed between West Woodburn and Bellingham and motorists are asked to avoid the area.”
